Question Primer Feeder for Breech Lock Challenger Press

    Hello,

I am currently focusing on loading .45acp using Lee Breech-Lock Challenger (single stage). I was unable to find answer by searching (but I am not clever using search tools)

My reloading process for mixed range brass is:

1 - deprime with a dedicated decapping tool
2 - wet tumble with ss media
3 - use sizing die and seat primer on the way down (manually placing primer into the Primer Arm Assembly at the top of the ram-stroke)
    4 - use neck-expanding powder-thru die and give a powder charge
5 - use bullet seating die to seat projectile
    6 - use crimp die

I would like to improve step 3 by having the primers auto-fed to the Primer Arm Assembly.

Will the "Lee Load-Master Progressive Press Large Primer Feeder" work with the Lee Breech-Lock Challenger single-stage press?

ty in advance for any advice

For the single stage Lee presses, they have the Safety Prime system.

You cant do it in the same step as anything else.

I give mine a dry tumble just to take off the range dirt, then size and decap in one step, then tumble again to get them actually fairly clean. I usually prime on the couch, while watching TV, with the Lee hand primer. I'll prep lots of cases, and store them already primed, and I usually don't clean brass and load on the same day

Since you are using a single stage press, save some of the hassle and buy a hand primer. I use the RCBS universal hand primer and there is nothing extra to buy. I have used the Hornaday and you have to use shell holders. The Lee uses a set of proprietary shell holders. After you have de-primed, cleaned your brass, sized and bell the cases then prime them by hand. I find I get a much better primer seating using the hand primer.

I have also used the Lee Prime All tool that uses a special die in the press. This was OK but, I found when it got down to the last 6 or 7 primers I had to push them down the ramp. This was an older style and I don't know if they have fixed that problem.
A vote for anyone other then the conservative candidates is a vote for the liberal candidates.

Get a Lee Ram Prime. They make a new one for the Breech lock System. The older Ram Prime will work also, but you have to use it with one of the Breech Lock bushings.

You sound like a perfect candidate for the Lee Classic Cast Turret press.
