fire forming load for a 257 wby

cant find new brass anywhere. Ive got a couple hundred 7mm rem mag brass. I know you can run them through a 257 sizer and fire form. Just wondering if anyone has done it and what fire forming load you used.

fire forming--- 10 grns Unique, fill case with cream of wheat to neck bottom, twist of toilet paper to contain it all, point up and shoot. Sometimes a second full power load is required to blow the body out. This works well on 348 for various black powder cases.

i used to do 3030s with 7 grains of unique and and beeswax to seal it to make 7 waters cases. Never used the cream of wheat thing though. What does that accomplish?

In magnum size cases I usually use 15 grs. Unique and COW filler. The cream of wheat holds the powder against the primer and seems (to me) to help iron out the case. Just make sure you fire it downwind.
Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway!
