Local metal supplier has some WW's. He is asking $.40/lb which is down from the $.70 he was asking last year. Scrap brass is still $3/lb, same as last year. I wouldn't need to buy any more if I bought what he has, but don't want to overpay for them.

Prices in my area vary.
Several months ago I bought all the scrap dealer in my area had at 20 a lb.
Now I have to go a little further out of my area and find the price varies from 40 to 70 a lb.
I'm guessing the dealers bought scrap lead when it was high and now that the price has dropped they have to sell it high enough so as not to lose money on it.
Last week I took some scrap brass into the dealer and was told that it was worth only 30 cents a pound, it had been 3.00 a lb last summer.
12 Corona per 5 gallon bucket.
If I was parting with some serious money I would only want clip on WW and not the mix of Zn, stick on and clip on that I presently get.

I'm extremely fortunate in that I have acquired roughly eight 5gal buckets in the last 5 weeks and except for gas for the drive have spent a total of $8. Most shops here just give them away. I got to one shop a couple of weeks late. He had just thrown a 5 gal full away. Not much demand for old weights around here lately. There are a few locals gathering a limited number of wheel weights to cast fishing jigs. Other than that, I seem to kinda have the market to myself, at least in my local area.
Good time to buy WWs..Scrape yards are only paying .10-.20/lb and they are not getting much more for them when they sell them on the market. Top of that you have to deliver them there. Is .40/lb worth it to you, thats all that counts.
They will be worth more than that someday when you can't buy them anymore.
Just paid $20 a bucket for 2 buckets. I had been hesitating to pay for them, since one place gives me a bucket every couple months for free. I figured having was better than not.

I picked up about 20 #'s for free today at one stop.
I recently paid $35 for a 105 pound bucket of WW's from a scrapyard, but it's got a bunch of steel weights and zinc in it. :cuss: I may have a deal to buy a few hundred pound of foundry lead ingots for 40¢ per pound from an individual.
I trade a box of fresh donuts for wheel weights at a local tire shop. We both are happy about it.
Considering the work involved with sorting and smelting, If I had to pay for WW, I would not use them. I would buy pure WW alloy from the Antimony Man. Luckily I don't have to pay for them. Considering the work involved they are NOT FREE.

OK is something quite accurate if you want to play with it. Corky/Sundog and I buy 15 five gallon buckets of WW per year with a donation of 50 bucks to the dealership beer fund. Some buckets are jammed packed, some are barely at the top, some about 6 inches from the top. Corky has to drive 90 miles each way to pick them up for the MOAS, plus 2 good lunches. 4 bottles of propane (if not mistaken) are used to render the 15 buckets. with two more good lunches if I come to help, and that is almost a requirement anymore. So, that means another 180 miles. ... felix

the good times with friends PRICELESS!!!!!! Clint
From $0 to $25/bucket... though one place I have to match what the scrapyards are paying - which fluxuates.

On average about $0.10 - $0.15/lbs. Yes I sometimes get them for free but I honestly don't care if I have to pay for them or not, I'm just glad to be able to get some.
