Saw this and thought I'd share it for those who may be interested in making an annealing machine. Of course, comments are welcome as I'm not a specialist in this area.

JUST GOTTA LOVE THIS JOINT.
Think I may have to try this, easy thing to do.
If I didn't already have an Annealer I'd be all over this setup. Matter of fact I might just make up one anyhow.
Very cool if you're doing any quantity at all
Pretty cool. Thanks for posting this Slim
I'd still want to use Tempilaq to help setup the timer, so's not to overheat the brass.

Bob
I've been looking at getting into the annealing process. Thanks for the heads up, many systems out there are cost prohibitive for us smaller users.
Pretty cool. I think there is an induction annealer in my future.
I'd like to see if there are any negative comments before committing. I made a different method a while back but haven't used it much due to not shooting much lately. That's fixing to change as I just got on a private range after being on the waiting list for 7 years.

Since the first people who look at this sub-forum are interested in handtools, you would probably get more responses and informed opinions on the appropriate sub-forum, say “Reloading Equipment,” “Equipment Reviews and Discussion,” or even “Case Forming and Reforming” where discussions of brass management are more frequently encountered than they are on this sub-forum where a lot of the readers seldom anneal and wouldn’t Be likely to even look at a complex piece of equipment as you are discussing. Just a suggestion...

Well Mods, if it needs to be moved feel free to do so.
That’s over my head. Thanks.

Damn, I think if I had seen this before launching into building my own flame annealer I would have gone this way. Anyone want a homebuilt propane job? It will only cost around 200
The issue w/ them is always duty cycle. That one says five minutes on, five minutes off. Cases obviously don’t require that much time. And for that price I highly doubt it can sustain for five minutes. If you’re looking at production time there are plenty of vertical annealers in the same price range that will run continuously.
I’m tempted to try this out as it’s not much money. Water cooling it would increase the duty cycle a lot. But it becomes more complicated at that point. And no matter what you have to use Tempilaq. Annealing is not magic. It’s science and is simply time and temperature. If you don’t know what temp the brass is at there is no way you can set the time up properly. Going off color change is not accurate.
