Rcbs pro melt temperature control alignment

Just bought an Rcbs promelt used on line and it came in the mail with the knob removed. The potentiometer has a flat on it but I’m unsure if this is correct alignment. Please tell me with knob turned all the way ccw where the white line on knob should be pointed. Thanks

Thanks , What do you normally set it at when casting and mould is all warmed up a?

love your black lab. My fourth black lab just had put down after 13 years. I’m heart broken.

I have mine all the way up and use a PID for temp control

will stay within 1°± if I don't add any lead during casting session

    cast at 710°

I max temp and use a PID as well. Temp depends on mold. HG molds can be a bit cooler, MP molds need a little more heat.

No PID here. I max the temp when initially heating. I turn the temp down to 725 (+/-) when the spout pours cleanly (not dribbling or no flow). Pour the first few in a hot mold. See if they frost (too hot for me). Cool the mold and pour a few more. If pouring ceases (spout gets "cold"), turn up the temp slightly. If necessary, use canned heat against the pour spout. Once a heat-cycle rhythm starts (pot and mold), it is fairly easy to maintain a pour that makes consistent boolits.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
