Yes it is. I am looking to purchase a Ruger Single six bisley, in 32 H&R Magnum. I already have the dies, and an RCBS 98 gr mold. The bullets have been cast. I guess I put the cart before the horse!
You will be ready. I bought my gun then absolutely couldn't find ammo. I paid through the nose for a few boxes of 32swlong and 32hr mag just to get a supply of brass. No more .80-1$ a round for me.. More like 5 cents.... love 93gr lrn through mine. Good luck!
Yes watch for starline cases and buy enough to keep you shooting.
I started with an H&R snub nose 732, 2.5" barrel double action revolver in .32sw long.
What a joy to shoot.
That led me to something with a longer barrel, Ruger New Model Single Six in .32 H&R mag.
I have fired around 100 rounds through it, all .32sw long, not a single H&R mag.
The little .32sw longs shoot like lasers out of that thing.
Which in turn led me to a .32 in a autoloader.
Happened to be browsing around and discover the little Beretta 81 in .32acp trade in's at classic firearms for 209$. Paid the extra 20$ for best out of 10.
The pistol I got looked new. Very little wear. And it shoots the same boolit, and the same load, just in slightly smaller brass. And it shoots it just dandy.
12+1 plus I eventually scored 2 more mags at Classic for 35$ ea.
That little girl is ready to rock and roll. Guys at the range called it "cute"
Yeah, well if you think baby rattlesnakes are cute, maybe.
But it sure puts nice holes in paper!
Don't be dumb like me and wait so long to discover the .32's. When the .45's and .357's and whatnot are banging up your hands and putting the whammy on your mojo. Go smaller, go find some fun!
You do realize this is a forum about casting one’s own bullets, right? We can scrounge up brass for whatever caliber we need, cast bullets from any one (or more) of the plethora of moulds available now, then add primers and powder, and suddenly no caliber is expensive or hard to find.
As far as moulds go, never in the history of cartridge arms have we had the variety of bullet moulds in .311-.314” we have today. You can tailor a 32 S&W and 32 H&R round to suit about anything you want to shoot. Life is good!!

I like my Bretta 81 also. Cheep to load and it shoots great . 32’s are nice
I have never bought a loaded round of 32.
When I first got my SP-101 327 Fed, I tried to cut corners on brass.
Eventually, I broke down and did the Starline order.
Now that I have sent thousands of 32 pills downrange, the cost per shot for the brass is no big deal and getting better all the time.
And people wonder why we cast our bullets & reload!
Political correctness is a national suicide pact.
I am a sovereign individual, accountable
only to God and my own conscience.
I have never fired a 32 revolver round that I did not load myself. I have never fired a 44 Special round either that I didn’t load. Green frog is dead on when he says these are the good old days.

Star Line has 32 long $90 for 500 and 32 H&R mag brass $89.50 for 500, free shipping and available now
This is as listed on their website.

If you have a Walmart nearby, the ones in my area are closing out handgun ammo at very inexpensive prices. I saw some Federal .32 H&R on the shelf today; of course the more common stuff except for .40 S&W is gone.
Wow.. Never thought about w-mart having 32mag...
I’ve never seen 32 S&W or H&R on the shelf at any Wally World I’ve checked. Now name brand 9 mm in bulk packs is cheaper than I can load it (or so cheap I don’t want to take the time to reload!)
I’ll keep loading the 32 family with bullets I’ve cast in one of the 8-10 Moulds I own or have access to. I’m starting to try to narrow things down a bit to one or two very promising wadcutters, a SWC I can cast HP or solid, and a great big NOE adaptation (125 gr) of the classic Ideal 3118, but there are just so many others to play with)
