    ideal 452488 mold 45acp

    I have 452488 and I just loaded 5 gr of tightgroup .Had to set the bullet deep in brass to get it to go all the way in to the chamber.Overall length is 1.125.Will test in the next few days .Click image for larger version. Name: 6946new1.jpg Views: 3 Size: 201.9 KB ID: 251657
    I have read to short OAL could build up to much preasure.What do you think??

    the overall length for that bullet in 45 acp is 1.120" according to the Lyman cast bullet handbook. You should be OK with load.

    I've loaded 3.5grs of Bullseye under that Bullet for years.
    Will have to switch to Titegroup after I run out of Bullseye.
    So I'm very interested in your results.
    Which may be awhile since I get 2,000 loads to the pound.

    Good luck. That load may shoot a bit low in a fixed-sight Stock Pistol.

    I have the 452460 thats seated short like that. Ugly as sin I think but shoots good.

    you will run out of lead before you run out of powder ha ha ha

    It's in my Lyman Cast. Bullet Handbook dated. 1973 and also my Lyman Reloading Handbook 46th edition,
    But not in my 45th edition. Those are the only 3 I have.

    My Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd Edition shows OAL as 1.120" for that bullet (my 4th Edition is out in the shop)...
