And where do you get the cheap walnut hulls? I went to Walmart and all they had was the coarse corn cob.

crushed walnut - pet store, it's sold as lizard litter
Try Graingers Ind. Supply they carry both walnut and Corn Cob, runs about $25.00 for a 40 lb. bag.
Here's a tip for what its worth, I ordered the wrong grit the last time I ordered from Graingers, they offered to take it back and order the right size, but I went ahead and kept it. I had ordered the 20/40 which is quite abit finer--End results was it worked just as well and NO MEDIA caught in the flash holes.
If you want the size that Lyman sells ir 16/20.
The above is for corn cob.
I use 12/20 walnut to clean before processing and 20/40 corn cob to polish and remove lube after processing.
You can get the walnut at Harbor Freight also.

which walnut do you want from harbor freight? fine or coarse?
the current harbor frieght flyer has a better cement mixer for 10 bucks less.
corn cob for bright polishing....walnut for cleaning dirty brass.
i am looking at one my self
mike in co
only accurate rifles are interesting
I wonder if they have them at the store, or have to mail order it?
I've been buying mine from Petco. They have the lizzard litter crushed walnut 12.5 lbs (10 quart bags) for 9.99. That is cheaper than anywhere else I could find walnut. The ones that I have been buying are very fine and do not stick in the primer holes. They pour right through.
I've bought 15 bags from them in the last month and a half. (I use a lot of it, anymore.)
Other pet stores like petsmart are running about 13 bucks a bag.
That HF freight mixer will probably work fine, but check the wants ads/craigslist/etc. for used models. That little 1/3 hp motor doesn't seem like much, and you may be able to get a 1/2 to 1 hp model in good shape for the same or less money.
You could always try white rice in the big 20 pound plus bags from either Wally World or Costco.
I am looking at that one from harbor freight too. But in the meantime I am just washing cases using dishsoap in a plastic tub from the coffee grinds adding a squirt of lemon juice, quick rinse in the same tub. Then I put them in the clothes dryer inside a cut off leg from old jeans secured at both top and bottom. Can get 100-243s comfortably in there . Run a few cases into a pinch of auto polish compound and let them tumble with the towels for the dryer cycle. A little noisy not too obnoxious though. Come out shiny new!
Here's a pic of some 38spl I did that way.
