I was a bad boy today. I ordered a new 5” half lug blued gp100 on friday. Well they called today and told me it was in. I went to pick it up, and got to talking to the owner. I showed him pictures of my .45c bisley with a leupold scope set up for hunting. He knows I am a reloader, and I told him 45c was probably my favorite caliber. He brought out two new marlins that he said he got a great deal on. One had real pretty wood and he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. It has a 20” octagon barrel.
I was excited because my state just passed a law that allows rifles chambered in certain straight walled pistol cartridges to be used for deer hunting. I was at my brother in laws house last weekend for a bbq. Him and his son are my hunting partners. Well, all they would talk about was deer hunting with a lever gun. Today the temptation was just too great, and it came home with me, along with the gp100. If my wife was still alive, I would be going furniture shopping this weekend.
Sorry for the rambling post!
