I will pile on...
I had one and that was Paul Jones' personal machine (named Roscoe) and I regret selling it. Just a neat old machine. But it sat idle after I got my first Dillon 1050. The Dillon was faster.

There are several nice looking ones on Ebay right now, set up in different calibers. Financially, its probably a good thing for me that my loading room is not bigger! I could see me with a dedicated machine for each caliber that I shoot a lot of set up on the bench.
I love my Dillon but the Star is a nice looking, Classy and precision machine.
I have a dedicated Star Reloader for most of the pistol calibers that I shoot often, and then an extra head for the others.
My first Star reloader , Sizer and H&G 10 banger Molds was a birthday gift in 1956.

Now that dies are so ridiculously expensive, you couldn't give me one. I loaded about 80k rds with one in 4 years, back in the 70's. I'll take several Lee presses, set up in different calibers, for a lot less money, any day.
A friend gave me a Star universal in 38spl with the hulme case feeder. It's a very good press but when something goes wrong it can take several minutes to clear. Changing calibers is very expensive and takes a while so I leave mine for 38spl only. I also have a Dillon 550b. I would trade the Star for another 550.
I have one that I am resurrecting. Having a lot of fun with it:

Just a good cleaning and will run like new. Now with Star is back in business in New jersey , there is no reason not to get parts

Greetings Gatling,
Nice work at restoration.
Some observations.
The brass powder bar has a hole perpendicular to the dispensing hole. If it is threaded, the bar may have been modified to use swap out bushings.
Regarding the powder hopper and powder bar lid, the thread is TAPERED! Close as I can measure it is a 9/16-27 SPL-SHORT Dryseal. Watch out for accessory powder hoppers that have 9/16-27 STRAIGHT threads.
The powder bar housing is cast/machined from a Zinc alloy. ZAMAK #4 I think is close to the original.
Star is a great machine. I have 4 and 1/2 machines in the shop. I just cannot let them go.
Cheers,
Dave
