Cheap, second-hand Charter Arms “Target Pathfinder” .22. Aptly named if the target is a washtub at 25 yards.

Attachment 237129Well, there were 2 actually. A model 33-1 S&W J frame 5 shot and a pencil barrel model 10, both from the mid 60's and in mint condition. Both have stocks serialized to the gun. I'll tell you, I've got to do something about this S&W habit I've got.
IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us!
IG1871 Mauser... actually those were the last two I bought!

Made it to the range today, wife was outside in the car tapping her toe so I did not stay long.
First shot was in line vertical but at 20 feet was some 5 inches low. So I took a full turn on the vertical. Fired a second shot. Backed off one click on the vertical and went one click right.
Had a few minor failures to feed, one failure to eject.
By the second mag I was starting to get the feel. 4 out of 5 shots almost touching. 5th was a flyer, blame it on operator error.
New target, loaded a mag, fired 9 shots no hiccups. All easily inside a 2" stick on target. Almost all inside water bottle cap 1" circle. I said good enough, packed my gear and came home.
Folks, IMO for 362$ + 43$ Red Dot + 20 FFL fee IMO this gun is a big time winner.
Next is waiting for warmer weather so I can play with it at different distances.

A friend wanted to get rid of a Russian Baikal 12 gauge SxS hammer gun at a very reasonable price so I bought it from him just for re-sale or to use as a possible trade gun ... it's just FAR too ugly to even contemplate keeping it!
(As our old gunsmith used to say about these Russian Baikal shotguns whenever he encountered one ... "Like a tractor ...")
I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!
Savage Model 93, .22 WMR. Horrible 10 round factory magazines.

Ruger No. 1 in 22-250. Can't pick it up until late Saturday.
Just paid off the balance owing on a nice old German Martini Schuetzen in 8.15x46R ... now I have to wait for it to arrive in the mail. I hate waiting for Christmas to arrive!

Picked up this HS Supermatic. Still trying to get the mags right. Was given the shorter bbl, 2 decent mags and the cherry checkered grips. I think it will be sweet when I get it right.
A month ago bought a S&W model 57 .41 Magnum with a 6" barrel. The gun is extremely accurate and a pleasure to shoot. In the near future I want to purchase .41 Spcl. Brass from Starline and find a good load using Titegroup powder.
At the last local gun show I bought a Para-USA 1911 Elite Stainless 45 cal. Waiting for the snow to melt and warm up a tad before taking it out.
Some really good prices on Gunbrokers as of late. Just purchased two S&W 637's for $315 each. And S&W is giving a $30 rebate for retired military. The 637 .38 special +P is a sweet revolver to keep in a drawer or glove compartment. Always ready to go and basically jam proof.
