Marlin 336W yesterday from Dicks Sporting Goods...then I saw the news today and wish I hadn't bought it from them. To top it off, it took me 3 trips to the store before I could bring it home...but that was the state's fault. NJ NICS check was down all day Saturday, so couldn't buy it and had to come backup on Monday. So went back Monday and was told the NICS was running slow with long waits, so still couldn't bring it home. Almost 24 hours later I get the call my NICS completed, so made trip #3 to finally go get it. Apparently NJ has a different definition of the word "Instant"
I just bought from hinterland outfitters a Ruger 77/357. Had one a few years ago, sorry i sold it. Nice lite gun for this older guy to run the woods with.

Mine was a custom Remington 700 short action from Patriot Valley Arms in Exton, PA. **** fine rifle. I took a muley in the Ft. Peck, Montana area on Nov. 5th with it at 883 yards, first round from a cold bore. Not my first time shooting over half a mile, I've been practicing at these ranges since October 2011, but my first big game harvest at long range. Bullet impacted within 1" of the aim point. I cannot say enough about good things about Patriot Valley workmanship, and I've been shooting long range and deer hunting for nearly 40 years. Later in the rifle season in back home in PA I took a whitetail buck and a whitetail doe to fill out my PA tags with it.
Legally, my "most recent gun" isn't; it's classified as an "antique," since it's a Pietta C&B repro of the Colt '51 Navy...
Marlin slb 4570 .fancied a 4570 for years and love leverguns easy decision.
Springfield 86C; I have a thing for the older .22's.
Michigan game law prohibits shooting varmints at night on state land with a center fire. So, rim fire or shotgun it is. After some research, I decided the Weatherby PA-459 gave the most bang for the buck.

I have other scatter guns for the thin skinned and winged critters, so this one is being set up for buck shot and slug only. I mounted a Streamlight, green LED game light on the bottom pic rail, and topped it off with an aim red dot reflex sight. The Streamlight is an impressive light for the money.

It has threaded choke and came with a cylinder bore choke. I plan to buy a full choke for buck shot and a rifled tube for slugs and start playing around with different loads.
A Norinco JW15 22LR rifle. Not really wanted or needed, but a friend wanted a scope I was selling and couldn't come up with all of the cash. It looks like a Brno / CZ copy, but with a slightly beefier stock. I like the look and feel of it. I will use it for learners at the range.
Another friend angling to sell me an unused Pietta 1873 44/40. I'm tempted, but not taking the bait yet. I didn't tell him that I have several buckets of once fired 44/40 brass downstairs, 1000 at least of cmmercial cast bullets and a Big Lube Mav Dutchman mould in my loading room, haha!
