What is the best way to lap out a Lee .40 bullet sizer die?

My .40 die sizes my lead bullets down to .39. What is the best way to open it up to .403?
    Thx for the info.

I would send it back to Lee. .001 is doable but .004 is not easy to keep round.

Cheaper than sending it back to Lee is to get the NOE push through and the .403 bushing.

.390 -.403 is .013 that's just shy of 1/64th of an inch. you can polish out that much but wont maintain the lead and or geometry of the die. That's an lot to be under I to recommend sending it back.

That Lee Size/lube die has a diameter of .401 inch:

I'm not sure what die you have at .390 diameter, as I don't see one listed, nothing between .358 and .401:

Edit: If it truly sizes bullets to .390 dia. and was sold/bought for .401, has no leading, it is defective and should be replaced for free.

Lapping .002" is certainly doable, and will improve the finish.
    If I'm missing something here...
    never mind

DougGuy the cylinder man does a wonderful job on honing out Lee sizing dies.

Cost depends on how much needs to come out.

I had a Lee sizer marked .454 which was really .4535 and he honed it to .455 for me.

I tried another scrap bullet and it did come out to 0.401. I did not lube them the first time so that might have been the issue.
I guess my next question is is .402 better for lead bullets?

I size my 10mm boolits to .403 They work great. You want at least .402 for lead.

I like the NOE sizer, but the issue with them is you can't get a full stroke on the press handle. Just isn't natural. I prefer lee and have a lee for every caliber I shoot. I need to open a couple up a little.
