    Browning SA 22

Anybody have any experience with one of these .22's ? I pretty much demand accuracy out of all my rifles, but have no clue re these .22 rifles. Wanted one for many many years, but...I bought a used BLR in .358 quite a few years ago and the barrel was maybe a decent tent stake but sucked as a rifle barrel. Browning repair wasn't much (any?) help. As a result, I'm leery of barrels made by Browning.

They are an elegant design capable of hunting accuracy. The barrel says Browning but depending on vintage was made in Belgium or Japan. I had one but I was afraid of hurting it with my lifestyle so I traded it to my brother who still jas it as a semisafe queen.

It is capable of good accuracy, not a bench gun but better than many. I have several, one made in 1976 would outshoot a Ruger 7722 I had in the 80s. They like to be held in the hands when shooting for groups, at least mine shoot better and zero correctly that way. I squirrel hunt with a 1959 vintage one and it shoots sub hollowpoints into 1/4 inch for 5 at 25 yards. Check out the China repro scopes that clone the 3/4 inch Redfield. Little scope is clear and an appropriate size to the rifle. They are lite and clean handling with iron sights as well. A classic !

Don't shoot it wit h your bare arm under the forearm. The bottom ejection wiil burn you with hot brass. My brothers has a 3/4" steel Weaver on it and it's beautiful!
