The world is full of cases like this. It's just part of life that we all must deal with one day, in some manner or another. I truly feel for him and his family, and will add him to my prayers. The only real certainty that any of us have is that once we're born, we're sure to die one day subsequent to that. Modern philosophies don't seem to want to deal with this reality, but modern philosophies are pretty willful these days, and tend to avoid a lot of very real issues. God be with him and his family in this time of need and sorrow and heavy burdens. We're all supposed to learn from these people, and their situations, so that we might learn to take the serious things in life more seriously, and deal with them more effectively, and learn to appreciate all the good things in life more fully and consistently, I think. This world was never intended to be a panacea, as so many moderns tend to regard it as being. It's a "vail of tears" interspersed with all sorts of pleasures and joys and blessings. The bad comes with all the good, and the many, many blessings we have in this life.

Whenever I read the obituaries these days, it makes me mindful that I'm already older than a good many of the folks with their names in there. We are SO blessed! We need to appreciate what we have in this life so much more than we all too often do. God bless this family, and keep them.
