Opportunity to get a little IMR-4227 cheap. What is it good for?
Update this, I am looking at using it solely in 44 mag for cast boolits and possibly Copper jacketed. I have a Kieth style 4 cavity 240 gr lyman mold and a 2 cav. 215 gr swc.

218 Bee, 32-20, 357 Mag., 41 Mag. and 44 Mag. Can also be used as a fair substitute for SR 4759 in smokeless-black duplex loads.

is this a better choice to shoot cast 240-250 SWC, in 44 mag than H-110?
I would like to hear personal experiences as I have never tried it.
My 25-20 wcf loves the stuff. I have used it in my 357 mag also.
Sorry, can't testify about the .44 Mag. but I'll bet that 44Man will come along before long, he knows.
All I can provide is what the book says...

I just picked up a pound myself. I plan on trying it in .30 carbine but I also see it in load manuals for cast rifle loads.
Semper Fi
If it's less than $20/lb jump on it. Do the research and if you need it, grab it. If you dont need it, grab it.
Looking for Ideal mold 419181 (44 Evans Long)
"Joined Dates" are deceiving if you factor-in "lurk" dates.
I use it in the 300BLK, 44Mag, 357Mag, and 30 Carbine.
22 hornet
I use it in my Ruger SRH in .44mag. I also use it in my Ruger SRH 480. My uncle gave me a big jug of it and I switched to it after I ran out of 2400. In my pistols it leaves a little unburnt powder in the barrel but it cleans out easily.
It is my go to powder for cast in 357 mag.
it can have some problems in the 44 mag when things get hot.
it is a good powder in the 30-06 with cast, and the 300 BO for AR rifles at sub sonic and the 445 super mag with heavier bullets/boolits.
the 30 carbine and similar case sizes do well with it too.
if it's available at a good price grab it, you'll soon sort it out.
It is awesome in 44mag, close to 2400, some of the upper end loads are compressed.
I tried it in my 454 and 44 magnum I don't like it
I'll stick with unique dots and 2400 H110
kids that hunt and fish dont mug old ladies
I use it in my Schuetzen rifle - 32-40. Meters very consistently for breach seating.

several years ago I used it for 2-1/2" & 3" 410, 3"-20 ga, & 44 Mag, 30 Carb; now I use it for cast loads in bottle neck rifle rounds similar uses to 2400
Shoots the 240 grain pills excellent out of my model 29
