The 452AA has the same texture but the color is about 1 shade lighter than the 473AA, would be very easy to mix up. The 540 looks almost like 800X

I can tell you that my 473AA is a fine silvery-colored ball powder, if that's any help.

Have no 452AA to compare it to.

Both 473AA and 452AA are ball powders and look identical to me. I have both of them from past extensive Trap Shooting and now use them for pistol loads until exhausted. The load data I found in the Speer #11 book shows they are not the same in performance. For instance, in 45 ACP, 200gr JHP, the 473 at 6.8gr yields 938fps, the 452 with the same bullet at 5.5gr yields 916fps. Loading too much of 452 can get you a world of trouble.

Makes good fertilizer for your garden.

I also had a pound given to me. I worked up to 4.9gr/38spl/158gr cast (as a non+P load)after looking at all the load data I could find(YMMV). Shoots like a mild load of unique. Chronos about 80fps less than 5.0/Unique out of a rifle barrel. (1070 vs 1150)
