NOE gas check seater die inventory run

Like a lot of you, I've got a couple molds that cast GC shanks that are a little tough to get checks on by hand. A few of us are trying to get Al to do an inventory run of the gas check seating die if anyone else is interested -http://noebulletmolds.com/smf/index.php/topic,1516.0.html

    Mods, sorry if not allowed!

Why don't you put a dime on the sizing die and use the proper punch and seat those tough gas checks that way, It works for me and only cost s a dime?

I have had one for a few years and it is the best thing ever. I use a Star lubesizer but still buy his nose punches for GC bullets so I can seat them using his seater.

so, is the NOE seater caliber specific? Need to order separate punch or die for each bullet type?

Not caliber specific at all, just use a flat punch at the bottom, the top die is just a holder for your top punch, although it is free floating to align properly.

You can end up off center doing it that way. RCBSs makes a piece that limits travel so you can seat the check but not lube the bullet. The advantage to the NOE die is that the stem floats. The top punch will center itself and seat the check square. I have one mold that gives me problems seating checks if I use anything but the NOE die.

All those who are interested should also post in the inventory run thread on NOE's forum. I put the link in the 1st post.
