I live in central Texas, deep in the Texas Hill Country. I have a scrap yard and a recycling center that both will sell me mixed wheel weights. The scrap yard sells them for 15 cents per pound, but only about 25% of the WW are lead. The recycler sell WW for 28 cents per pound and are about 60% lead. So I carry an empty bucket in my truck and when in the town of the recycler I buy a bucket full. I sort before I melt and resell the zinc and iron to the scrap yard. Since I buy from the recycler, I sell to the scrap yard so that I am not buying back my own scrap.

I have a question on the stick on weights, are they always steel or lead?
I can pick out the clip on pretty good but some of those stick on are weird to me.
Some are soft and flexible, some are obviously steel and the heavy one are obviously lead.
I'm loving the donuts idea. They already know me pretty good but donuts would be awesome.
    Gotta do that.
As noted, some can be steel, or lead or zinc, even plastics. If you can smash them, they are likely lead & useable. AT 50c/#, I would buy all they had. The lead ww of any kind is going the way the dinosaur.

agreed if they sell you all lead .50 is a good deal.you will end up having about what some sell if for here by the time you get it all cleaned up.if you but them unsorted it would have to be for 20 to 25 cents or you would risk getting less then 50% usable lead.
