Bought a new truck tonight, may not be posting about new guns for awhile. Probably just as well, at that pace I'd be toting a new safe home soon, lol.

Couple of weeks ago bought a TC Contender Carbine with a 22LR Match barrel. About a week later bought a 23" 30-30 barrel to go with it.

A week ago walked into my local pawn shop to find 2 new lever guns. Both Win 94, one pre 64 was marked 850$ and one post 64 with the button safety through the receiver marked 500$
Well I waited till the manager was free and told him to give me his best deal. Which turned out to be 425$ which I just happened to have in cash in my pocket. So I put the taxes on my card, filled out the paper work, and took it home.
Tonight I went back and the pre-64 (44 built he thought) was down to 650$. Since I was still pretty cleaned out from last week I put 200$ down and put it on lay away. He knocked off the 48$ in tax and I think we are both happy.
Wood is perhaps not quite as nice but the action is silk and the gun looks great. No major dings or scrapes just age faded and worn blueing which suits me fine.
That will probably be my last for a few months.
Picked up a Marlin 30/30, jm stamped, at the LGS a few weeks ago

Ron used to be my regular stop when I lived up in Hervey Bay. Good luck with the .338.

Pair of Winchester 94's showed up at my local pawn shop. One post 64 94AE with no wear, very nice wood, I would say 99% of new condition, 425$ was the final figure. I can not really tell that it was fired more than once or twice with the bore scope.
The other is a pre 64 built in WWII era, again in very nice condition. Wood was dry, looked lighter but a good oiling with a soft cloth has it looking good again. 625$ and he threw in the taxes. So I put it on layaway and went back for it a week later.
In all pictures the Post 64 is on top with the button safety in receiver near hammer.
Collectors may scorn it but it really does not bother me. I leave it on fire unless I want to empty the mag. Nice knowing I won't trigger one accidentally.
A 1976 made Winchester 94 in 30/30 with a Williams FP sight. I swapped a H&R Shikari in 44Mag for it, the young guy fell in love with the Shikari after I gave him a shot. It was a bit of an uneven swap (he was happy with it though) so I threw in a couple hundred reloads and a Bore Snake with it. \
The inlay was done by the original owner, it is not to my taste, but well executed
I've had a few Williams sights over the years, never had a lick of trouble with them;

Now that's a rifle with character, FFoD! I like it. I like the Williams sight as well, a few of my later 94's wear them. Butt stock looks a little odd. A bit more figure than normal and a white spacer to boot. I suspect there's a story behind that.

I think the original owner refinished the stock when he installed the diamond. The white line spacer was added at the same time probably. It had since expanded a tad. I'm not sure what to do with that, but knowing me, the white line spacer will still be there when my heirs clear out my safe after I've ridden on ahead

Anyone who doesn't like an 1886 Winchester must not like lever rifles period. As big a pain as mine in 40-82 was to get shooting 25 years ago it ain't for sale or trade.
Last rifle bought was a Jeffrey Rook rifle that had been re-chambered to 25-20 WCF. It's in the hospital at the moment undergoing major surgery, a new liner in the same cartridge. A full recovery is expected and it should come home next week.

PSA kit to finish out an AeroPrecision stripped lower in 5.56 nato just because I wanted to see if it would start assaulting anyone. Got it all put together, loaded up and it has disappointed me, durn thing just leans back in the rack and hasn't assaulted anyone. Maybe all them talking heads got it wrong and it's the person not the weapon. ie:sarcasm rolleyes
I already posted it in the Single Shot rifle section, but yesterday I bought one of my "holy grail" guns ... a JM Marlin / Ballard No. 5 Pacific in .40-90 Ballard. Double set triggers with a 30" octagon barrel and a very good bore. Guess it's time to learn all about paper patching for black powder cartridges!
I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!
The next to last one was a Hawes revolver in 357, to go with my 22, and 44 mag Hawes(still looking for the 45 colt). I went to LGS last night to pay off the Hawes and he says, I got something to show you. He pulled out a 1886 Winchester which appears to be a SRC, DOM 1892 with a 22 inch barrel, been reblued and a lyman receiver sight put in the side, and it is a rebore to 45-70 from???? BUT FOR $650 Out the door. Had to buy it
