    Powder Coating Problems

Newbie to powder coating here, have been casting for 3-4 years, I tried to powder coat some 45 cal flat nose using the nonstick foil all the boolits came off in one sheet. I have to trim each boolit to cut it off the sheet of powder coating.... What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean they stuck to the foil or you had a build up of powder on the sheet of foil? If they stuck to the foil make sure you had the right side of the foil up, if there was a build up of powder that stuck them together you are applying too much powder.

It DOES work......VERY well.......for thousands of us. You are doing something wrong somewhere. Has nothing to do with your prowess in casting lead. It is your method of PC'ing.

If you are dry tumbling tap the pickup device against the side of container to knock off excess powder. Make sure you have the non stick side up on the foil

Tsignal, I think you used to have my number give me a call and you can come over and I'll give you a one on one. If I'm mistaken about the number just PM me. I would also like to extend the offer to any other member who would like to learn and is in my area.

I use small wire drawer organizer baskets for my coated bullets. They stick a tiny bit, but just a bump on the conc breaks everything loose. No flash, these are tumble coated & sized.

You are using a vibratory tumbler? How many bullets and how much powder? They look great

No, #5 Ziplok screw on lid containers, green ASBB. The red is HF, the purple/pink is Smoke's. The gals love the purple/pink.
I stand them up on the wire baskets, but if one falls over when moving them, I don't bother as long as they are not touching. I do about 40 bullets at a time. 1tsp of powder does 100s.
