would be shootin this in a 357mag, 158gr GC in front of 15.0grs of 2400 in the 1300fps range , also 44mag 215gr GC in front of 20 grs 2400 havent cronyed this load yet
Well I don't know that the #'s are proper for babbit . But if correct 2 to 1 would make a good bullet , plenty hard enough for your use. Good luck & Good shootin James
Agree. That is one babbit to two lead pipes, which cuts the tin & antimony down to 1/3 in the total mix. However, at those velocities you might get leading, actually in this situation, tinning. If this in reality occurs, then you must add more antimony to compensate for too much tin. This would require cutting the mix again by 33-50 percent with wheel weights, which has much more antimony than tin. ... felix

this alloy does seem very hard, harder than lino think that the #'s are different? If so what would you feel that this alloy was , found those #'s on the net when looking up the manufacture of this barHoyt GununieA is on the bar
OK, just make some boolits and report back. Junk metal is just that....nobody knows for sure. ... felix

WOW! I have 3 or 4 babbit hammers I use. Never thought about melting them but being in the machining industry I use them to much to melt down.
