    Local yard sells lead at 40 cents a pound .

    You are very luck, as I am, to have scrap dealers in your area will sell to the public. Many on here bemoan the fact their yards will not sell to them at all. Sad. What ever happened to good old capitalism?

    I do not mess with COWW's any longer due the mess and waste. I get all my pure Pb and all the alloys in clean forms from several local sources at very attractive prices. A lot of it does not even require re-melting!

    Wow Banger that's very nice . Wish I had a pure source here .But at least I can get it in some form .I have yet to cast scrounging lead right now . My first time will be pure Lyman #2 from rotometals just so I have as many variables eliminated as possible . In the mean time building a supply .

    Lucky you! And a good price too! The yards here won't sell to the public either. Not a big deal for me because I've been scrounging for years but it is for any new casters. Enjoy it while you can.
