    Lightfield Commander IDS Shotshell Slug 12 Gauge 1-1/16 oz Sabot.....reloading

    i'm looking for a 2.75 inch sabot load for my 1100(rifled)....it won't shoot 3 inch.......has anyone reloaded these....do you have to roll crimp or can I fold crimp....heading to Maryland after turkey day hunting thanks....ed

    Hello StriperCrazy, here is the loading data card that comes with the slugs:

    If you do not presently have a roll crimper then start looking for one but a good one like Lyman, the only well made one!
    In the mean time I suggest you drop the powder charge by 1 1/2 gr and see if you can fold crimp and if yes then you still can gradually come up 1/2 gr at a time!

    I got the Hammerhead mold and loaded them in the SPW sabots. So far so good.

    I as well went with the spw. Had Brooks make me the hammer head mold for both 20 ga and 12 ga using magma cherries. Best money I have spent in years. I cast with master caster. Single cavity only due to size. if you want steel 12 0r 20 hammer head slug mold they will make it. He has the tooling made for both now.
