Lifetime 44 Spl. full length resizing die - Heard of this brand before?

I picked up another 44 set for 44 Spl so I would not have to alter my 44 mag. setup on the 550. Two of the dies were RCBS but the FL die was labeled "Lifetime". Never heard of this brand before. Any one familiar with it?

They made dies for the Star reloading machines. Pretty common in the Star world.

LIFETYME...in 1973 , when a set of standard RCBS dies sold for $15.00 , the Star-Phelps Lifetyme FL sizing die sold for $22.50. In the catalog I'm looking at it shows only a FL sizing die, not a set, but just the one FL sizing die . Now it is carbide and they advertise no lubrication is needed and unconditionally guaranteed for 200,000 rounds !
I guess you had to count every one sized??? What happened to lifetime ???
I've never owned one but it looks to be a quality die.

I have three LifeTyme sizing dies in .38 Spl./.357 Magnum. One has 7/8 x 14 threads for a standard reloading press, and the other two have special threads for my Loadamatic progressive press, which has a different thread pattern than the Star loaders.

    Hope this helps.

Great info. Mine is a carbide and works well. It is stamped 44 Spl but I ran some mags in it to see if it would work okay and it did just fine. Looks well built. Thanks to all for the info.
