No I live in northern Utah. Snow is not unusual here, just thought it might be interesting to some. Just a lot of snow in a short time.

Woke up to 5 inches and by the time I got the snow blower out we had 8" with a 15 mph wind. Drifts in the driveway 2 feet deep, boy I love my snow blower. At 740pm it is a balmy 17 deg and 97% humidity and time to clean the driveway and front walk and skip the "from Vagas" drivel on TV. It is supposed to be nice tomorrow 34 and sunny.

Been so warm here I have barely ran the corn(pellet stove burning shelled corn). Needs to be below 30 or it drives me out of the house on level 1.

Recall as a kid I used to raise money for Christmas presents by shoveling walks. Been several years since that would have worked for todays kids.

In between construction all fall and doing antenna work with fresh dug tower holes my house is a dirt pit. Now that it is freezing I can finally mop less often! Need to de-mud my hiking boots that have this inch of dirt on the bottoms form the last bit of tower work last week.

    MaryB,

A little trick for getting mud out of boot treads, especially waffle stompers. Take a 12 inch section of double bit ax handle or other suitable hard wood club (have a fish killer bat in my truck that works too). Lift foot, beat bottom of boot till mud falls off. Switch boots and repeat. the more the mud the easier they are to clean. Result clean boots that you can refine using a boot cleaner. Side benefit is when the asked to do something you would prefer to not do, you can claim your have sore feet (from beating them with a club).

Seriously it really does work well. I picked it up when working for the Forest Service.

It hit 57 here today after being 27 on Thursday. Got a love Colorado winter to summer in 24 hours.

lift a foot? Bend over? Hit said foot with nerve damage? Fall on my face from the back damage?

lol I take them off, let them dry then beat them together outside. But with the construction I had the guys using the bathroom and they did not bother taking boots off so I have floors that I might get clean in another week or so... Now that it is colder and dryer in the house I can mop the hardwood and not have it soak up water and turn into a buckled mess. Need to sand it all down and refinish it one of these years...

Well Mary we all have out crosses to bare. I can see how having no feeling in the foot and a bad back could put a crimp in my idea. Always wondered why my left foot felt worse after attaching it with a ax handle (nerve damage too). I think I'll try the taking them off trick next time.

    Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

It's 70 today and will be the same tomorrow for Christmas. It's going to be warmer on Christmas than it normally is on Easter :screwey:

I have to run my stove at camp with the window cracked if its 30 or above. I like the fresh air anyways and the wood is free.
