    12 gauge/.58 caliber slug

I've successfully cast the 12 gauge Lee Key Drive slug and taken several deer with it. Now I'm looking to utilize one of my T/C Maxi-Ball molds in .50, .54, or .58 caliber for deer hunting via my 12 gauge USH. In order to do so, I need to know what wad to use and where to find it along with load data. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello TRG, for .50 cal bullet you do have 3 choices, CCS, BLS-12 and RSS-12 sabot,
here is the link to BLS-12 and RSS-12 sabot:

For .540 nothing that I know off is available for 12 gauge. Remington is the only company using .58 cal bullet with sabot, so far no sabots for .58 cal bullet to be used in 12 gauge!
    Hope it helps!

    I'm a little confused. Internet says a 12 gauge is a 0.729" cal slug. What is .58?

Last year I started messing around with exactly what your wanting do! I bought my components from Ballistic products.

    This is what I'm using:

    See thru Fiochi hull (unfired)
    Fiochi 616 primer
    Powder....tried Clays and Green Dot.
    370 GN Maxi Ball
BPI blue sabot cup with the nubins filed off! (Bullet is to tallto fit underneath these)
BPI gas seal...can't remember the part # on these but is about 1/4" thick
BPI roll crimper mounted in drill press.

I have also had great luck using the above but with a Buffallo Bullet 350 GN hollow base hollow point. Using 23 grains of green dot. I e tried the Lee drive key slugs and they have only given me accuracy at 25 yards but am still messin around.
