    Opening day success for grandson!

Grandsons first deer. He shot it with a Winchester mdl 94 in 32 special with a 160 gr 319247 PB (Pc'd) bullet in a round that he had loaded himself the night before. He is 11 years old. We are all very proud.

Yay! Way to go!! I bet you're so proud of him, as you should be.

Btw, is that a Lyman 66 sitting on the side of the receiver?

    Well done!
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.

Yes that is a Lyman sight on a 1954 Winchester 94. The load was @ 32-40 speed of a clocked 1800 fps with light recoil. My rifle is a 1953 Winchester 64, also in 32 Special using the 32-170 185 gr @ 1980 fps. I did paint the boy up a bit as tradition mandates.

Really neat. I put some blood on my son's face too when he took his first deer. He wore it like a badge of honor on his way home!

Very cool! He'll remember this forever, and hopefully one day do the same thing for his grandchild. Good on you.
