Need help finding data

I picked up some Hornady .452 xtp j words at my lgs. Thought they were 230 grain, I get home, lo and behold they were 250 grain (asked for the largest 45 hp). My Lee manual doesn't have any data for the 250. Been searching the net almost a week and having no luck. Powders I have available are W231, Tight Group, Tite Wad, SR 7625 and H110. Any help supplied would be greatly appreciated.

The new Hornady manual probably has loads in it for their bullets. I don't shoot anything that light in my Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag since all of my molds are 320 grains or more. And sometimes the deer are pretty thick around here and my boolets might have to go through two or three in a row.

My books show the 250grn for 45lc . The 230grn for 45acp.

I trust 231 for any pistol load! I would try the 230gr starting load and work from there.

Checked Lee and Hornady, no loads listed for 250gr.

I don't think the 250gr is meant for the 45acp. I could be wrong.

Hornady 8th edition does not list the 250gr in it's 45acp data.

Even the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook stops at 230gr for the 45acp.

Ackley Manual: 255 bullet grs. with 4.5grs Bullseye and 6 grs. Unique both at 840 FSP .

Accurate Powers Manual List loads only for there powders. in the 250 Grain Nosler Hollow Point.

I'll try to look more but that about it. I would think Hornady and Nosler should have data. I 'll try to check older Hornady's (Not in # 9) but I don't think I have a Nosler Manual.

The cartridge is probably 45 ACP. The reason such heavy bullets aren't loaded in 45 ACP is because of the internal taper of the case walls and the necessity to maintain a relatively short overall length. The bullet bases bulge the case when seated deeply enough to chamber.

Sounds heavy to me. I have a Taurus 1911 and cant get a 250gr to chamber without seating it to deep for comfort which bulges the case anyways. If you do decide to give it a try stay away from h110 and be very careful of compressed loads

Thanks for the assist all. Thinking (dangerous with me!) about reducing loads by ratio's. Will probably just decide to see if I can trade off for something I can use safely or leave on the shelf as a lesson learned. Don't want the nickname of lefty or stumpy.

All the 45 acp load data I have is for .451 jacketed bullets. Speer #11 manual has a load for a 260 grain jacketed hollow point:

I don't know if I would like to push a jacketed bullet of .452 down a barrel of .451. It may be safe, but don't know. 1911's have kind thin barrels as it is and the added pressure may not do it any good.
