    NOE Molds

I just got my 279/124 molds from NOE. Less than a week from order to my door. Really nicely made, can't wait to get a few cast with it. I am going to try to make this work in my upcoming 6.8 AR as a low cost 100yd practice rd. Plain base & hi-tek coated, maybe 2000fps. We'll see.

I have a couple of 270 molds I use in my 6.8. I've not shot any powder coated yet as until recently i'd not used the rifle much. I do however have a bunch cast and powder coated to load. My best loads with traditional lube has been 18gr H4895, cycled perfectly and was accurate, but no doubt below the level you are interested in, might be a good place to start though.

I ordered a NOE 311-165-RF-RG2 mould last Thursday around 3PM. I received the mould on Saturday around noon! That's what I call fast service! I fired up the pot, followed Al's break in instructions and cast up a passel of beautiful boolits for my .30-30's, that weigh 166g and mic .313. I'm a happy camper!

What temperature do you like with an alloy similar to Lyman #2 when casting in NOE 30 cal rifle mould?

    Thanks, Ed

Thanks Moonie. No, I was thinking about 20gr as max. I am not sure if the hi-tech will hold up much beyond 2000fps. Thx
