    Polish up that old Hollywood Senior Shaft

    Was cleaning this old girl up the other day and took this video and wanted to share.

    Nice Job, but that spinning base would cause me some concern.

    Thanks guys, I wanted to use the tail stock but didn't have a live center large enough. I did have the spindle speed higher but the lathe tried to walk across the room so down it went.
    I have a senior turret coming my way that is in bad shape ill try to take before and after pics that that one.

    Put a board on the base and push a live center into it. It would safer than nothing at all.

    Ya gots a lathe. Make an adapter. A dead center with a dab of of grease plugged into the adapter would do for a quick polish. In a pinch I've gotten better results with a dead center at reasonable speeds .
