That's not a bore riding nose, that is full diameter. What do you suppose is the purpose?

Sit in the throat of a revolver for a perfect launch?
Stabilize the front of the boolit like shooting a straight cylinder without excessive driving band?
Black powder shooting, with a fat grease groove that sits outside the case?
    Something else?

    What do you think?

WOuld need the dimensions to know for sure if its bore riding or full bore on the nose band. I saw a similar desighn on another mold makers web site they were bore ride on the nose band. May not be a pistol boolet but a rifle bullet. I have seen that desighn before but cant remeber where now

Reduction of bearing surface and increased velocity. Do a search for both Herter's and Niedner wasp-waist bullets. I don't know if they were ever "the rage", but they were a thing for a while.

I'm not the most knowledgeable, but I think that's for a paradox revolver. One that is part smooth bore and partly rifled so you can shoot shot through it.
