Need help/suggestions for my RCBS Lubsizer 2

    Here is the problem.

The Lube plunger that rides on the threaded rod looks like it has come off of the
threaded rod and is at the bottom of the lube body.

There is a retaining ring (clip) at the end of the rod which should have prevented this from
    happening but unfortunately it has.

I have attempted to thread the rod back into the plunger with no luck.

Has anyone seen or heard of this happening before and if so is there an easy solution?

Thanks in advance for you help.

    Deleted prior post after re-reading.

    Deleted 2nd post after re-reading...

After re-reading again...take the nut off from the threaded rod to be able reach down far enough to thread it in and remove it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have already attempted your suggestion with no success.

There is approx 1/4" at end of rod without threads, where the spring clip is attached.

I think I will take the rod to my local hardware store tomorrow and find a match.

IIRC the rod is 3/8-16 thread. You might try getting a piece of all thread, threading it into the plunger from above. Put a piece of wood with a 7/16 hole in it over the all thread to span the reservoir opening. Now use a flat washer and a nut to draw the all thread and plunger out. The wood which spans the opening in the casting gives the nut something to press against.

When you get it out make a spacer from 1/2 inch plastic pipe that is long enough to cover the bottom thread or two and put it in the bottom of the lube reservoir. This will keep the plunger from getting low enough to come off.
    Some times it's the pot,
    Some times it's the pan,
It might even be the skillet,
But, most of the time, it's the cook.

    Thanks C.F.
    Your info was most helpful.
Extracted the plunger easily using your suggested method.

The pvc spacer is a great idea.
Should prevent this from happening again.

Gonna try this spacer idea - cut it 5/16" long and we'll see how it goes.
