New Accurate Mold for .41 Magnums...

Don't know how he does it but I ordered a custom 4-cavity mold, one boolit of my design and one of theirs on Sunday night..the 18th...and it arrived today...10 days. Total was $151.00 delivered. This is my second Accurate Mold and will not be last as long as Customer Service is like this...

As to the mold...was looking for two heavier boolits for use a Freedom Arms Model 97 .41 Magnum and Taurus Tracker, both of which have substantially shorter cylinders than other .41s.

Had already tried their 41-215V that lists a 215 grain WIDE flat nose (.37 meplat) with a fairly short nose. As cast in wheelweights&tin it runs 205 grains and fits perfectly in both guns.

After testing penetration and stability at 950 and 1300 fps out to 100 yards with perfectly round holes and good groups I asked the owner (Tom?) if he could make a 250+- grain version of the boolit...and the next day the design was listed as the 41-250F...

Since I was not going to need all that many boolits of this type I decided to also order another 250 but this time a gas check that could also be used from Marlin carbine...their 41-250L....

This should work nicely in both the carbines and short cylinder revolvers....

Could not be more please with the service...

That sounds promising. The 250F should work quite well as a hunting bullet.

I am anxious to here how the 250L runs in your Marlin. I have not been able to try any of mine in the carbine yet. I mixed up 28 lbs of new alloy which should be close to 87% lead / 7% tin / 6% antimony. The bullets are quite a bit harder in the sizer than my first batch. I suspect these would be a better choice for my carbine than the softer bullets.

That BIG 250 SWC Keith you have should be a dandy all around heavy boolit although you may have to finagle the lever a little on the FG to get to feed. I have usually been shooting the 255 Cast Performance boolit from mine and it works pretty smooth. I am hoping that this 250L will be as accurate as I am now down to about 100 rounds of the 255s and don't plan on buying any more now that I am casting again...

I have a couple of the ranch dog molds, the 411-255 cycles like a dream in my Marlin.

I had the same mold..didn't work for me at all. Didn't care for the small grease grooves and the tangent ojive radius was such that it would not chamber in any of my handguns...and it wasn't even a smooth feeder in any of the three Marlins I have...

I am jealous. My mould took more like 3 weeks to arrive. It was worth the wait, however, as it pours very nice bullets. Just ordered another one, we will see how long it takes for that one to come. Hope it makes as nice as bullets,

I am looking at a couple more molds from them...one is the 41-265V.

The other would be a custom .41 that looks like the old Lyman metal piercing spire point gas check that is 200 grains in .44 and 125 in .357. I saw that NOE has the .44 and I also may ask them if they could do a 190 grain .41...

here is another thought about the Tarsus .41-- trim some brass back to 1.15-1.20 and then load what ever12 -13.5 of AA#9 or 2400 --my problem is seeing the sights-- - done this way I shoot Lyman 410459, Saeco 230, a MIHEC 208 gc hp and a 230 lfngc-- been doing it for a while just went thorough my first 50 and will now trim some more

Ive had EXCELLENT results with the Accurate 411250V. Excellent accuracy out of ALL my 41 mags, higher than average weight for better SD, fantatic velocity numbers without signs of overpressure, excellent penetration and game performance seen (not by me personally, but is essentially a LBT style and it has been proven by others). It has been my go to boolit for all out performance out of my 41s.
