I have been having great success with 3031 in my 300 Savage, model 99.
I have been loading pulled surplus bullets.
Anyone else using 3031? What calibers are you loading and are you having success?
If you hate 3031 can you tell me why?

I use it in most of my .30 cals, 30-30, 30-06, 308, 7.62x54R. Also in 7x30 Waters. I like it a lot.
IMR 3031 works good in my 375 win BB
Moderating is a responsibility not a privilege, abuse your power and you lose, no matter how powerful you may think you are.
Great powder and like 4895 works great in many calibers, 30-30, etc and great in the 45-70 too.
It was my powder of choice when I had a .222 also.
I have used 3031 in 243 and 22-250 with very good luck.
It is my accuracy powder in 22-250. 31 gr. behind 55gr. Gold match is a tackdriver for me.
36gr under an NOE 460-405 in 45/70 is a beautiful thing.
For the 30'06 I'm using a normal hunting load of 48.0gr with a 150gr PSP and then a real fast booger with 53.0gr behind a 150gr FMJ scooting out there at 3120fps.
The 45/70 now gets 56.0gr with the 300gr JHP. I did have it up to 60.0gr but that load ended up being pointless.
I expect to start experimenting with real boolits for the 45/70 soon as I get the pistol boolits going.

I load 125 gr in my 475 A&M mag with a 500 gr bullet
I just started using it in my 35 Whelen, and am going to try it in my 8 x 57 Mausers.
So far the whelen with Heavy C B's likes it
I used it years ago in my 30/30 and was very pleased
Use it in 45/70 works good.

Pretty much accepted as "the" 308 Winchester accuracy load in the 60's and 70's. The AMTU at Fort Benning used it as their standard 300 meter load with a 168 sierra for a long time. Still good today.
I have used 3031 with success in virtually every cartridge I shoot that uses a Large Rifle primer, including but not limited to: 220 Swift, 243 Winchester, 257 Roberts, 6.5mm Carcano, 7mm Mauser, 30 Remington, 30-30, 308 Winchester, 30-40 Krag, 30-06, 7.65mm Mauser, 303 British, 8mm Mauser, 35 Remington, 375 Winchester, 11mm Mauser, and 45-70. It is an extremely versatile powder, and one of my favorites for 35 years.
Use it for my 45-70 loads and love it so far. Pretty clean burning and fills the case very nicely with my 405 Gr. Lee cast boolits. So far besides using Reloader 7, when i can find it, this is one of my favorites for this caliber.
Most everything already mentioned plus 43 Spanish.

3031 in the 308 with cast bullets from 190 to 220 grs. work for me in all 4 of my 308's.
Remington, Howa, Savage, Ruger.

Tried it in my 223 and 270 back in the 1970's. Had to weigh every charge to make the long stick powder work. Maybe I just needed a better powder measure but I'm lazy. So I migrated to easy measure powder. It's however obviously been a very successful powder.
IMR has a whole new line of powders out. Placing in limbo the future of some of our old standbys.
