    Virgin S&W 1006

NIB, even had the wrapping paper around, so does the 2nd mag, cleaning rod still sealed in the plastic bag. Almost virgin .. still think they fired the proof round.

Back in the 90's I was too little.. but today, I found one, and it followed me home. Even though I took 2 boxes of ammo along, now the big question..

    to shoot or not shoot?!

I've got one and I shoot it. I've got a couple of other firearms that haven't been fired, but my handguns have all been fired.

If you don't mind my asking, what does a New In The Box S&W Model 1006 go for in Switzerland?

Its a toss up. In the USA people collect unfired nib older pistols.
I guess it depends on the price you bought it for.

So do people in Switzerland.. that's my dilemma.. more a shooter than a collector myself.

Fred, did a quick check on gunbroker and there's one right at the top for a little bit less than I paid for mine. And, it was less than my P229 for that matter, and that one sees quite some use.

Alright ok, I'll tool up and enjoy. Anyway there's already a .40 mold in my drawer collecting dust. Let's go slug the barrel..

The 1006 was one of the most accurate pistols I've ever shot. The feed ramp will eventually peen the slot it rides in in the frame but that takes a LOT of shooting and doesn't seem to hurt accuracy or reliabillity.
It would be a shame to not shoot such a fine gun.

Big time drool! That one is high on my "I want" list. Where I am, never see them NIB, and asking prices for used are always way more than I am willing to pay.

Same for me.. since the 90s. They're extremely scarce over here so I had to take the opportunity no matter what..

Might not want to use it for hot loads or high volume range time. I've read in several places that S&W no longer fixes the metal frame pistols and/or is out of parts.
