    Dazed and Confused

Ok I've been reading about lube until I have really confused myself. If you have the following requirements what would you recomend for a recipe to make your own.

    a. Easier to get Paraffin than beeswax but not ruling out beeswax.
    b. As little smoke and or residue as possible in that order.
    c. Intended for low velocity pistol 850 fps with an occasional foray with 1200 fps rounds as the top limit.
    d. No heater needed for lubrisizer.
    e. Stable temps with no extreme cold,Texas weather what can I say.

Years ago when I started casting I used a mix of equal parts beeswax, paraffin wax, and mineral oil (16 ounces for a pound). I worked very well and didn't require heat if ambient temperature was around 60 degrees.

I now just order 20 sticks of BAC from Lestuff.com, our resident lube guru. I can hardly make my own for what he charges for an excellent lube.

+1 on the BAC. I've been using it for some time now, mostly for my handguns. 38/357, 44 spl, 44 mag and also in 30-30. No heater needed and the price is right. I've attempted making my own lube on several occasions. some were ok and others were a real mess. Wonderful people at Lars.

This site is unquestionably the BEST!!!, and a very high percentage of what I've gleaned -- and often purchased -- came/comes from post vis knowledgeable generous info sharing folks (like you). From what you posted, I did a search for, > www.Lestuff.com/ < to no avail.
Might you kindly advise contact information so I, too, can check out BAC?
    Thanks, and BEST!

You could do well to read up on 45/45/10
You will learn far more at the casting, loading, and shooting bench than you ever will at a computer bench.

    f. Minimal stink in the making. Keeps the spouse happy.

Mix you some of Ben's Red and forget the others.
Are my kids/grandkids more important than "o"'s kids, to me they are, darn tooting they are!!! They deserve the same armed protection afforded "o"'s kids.

I have to plug RandyRat he has great bees wax and other lube making stuff. Also his tac1 lube shoots great. I have had no issues with leading and accuracy is top notch.
