I have seen a few different times the term "Grease cookies" used in reloading .
My questions:what are they, what is there purpose and how do you make them.
Thanks Ron

A grease cookie is a grease wad about the 1/8 inch thick. They are used between two paper wads to keep your blackpowder fouling soft. I use a lube extruder to make mine. The easiest way is to take and pour hot lube on a cookie sheet you then use the cartridge as a cutter for it.
The way I do it is load the blackpowder, I then use a cut wad of tablet backer pad. I push this down tight against the powder. This holds the powder tight. I then push the cartridge case into the lube and out comes the cookie. I thin use a playing card wad on top and push it all down gently on top of the tablet back wad. Then of course you put your bullet on and seat.
