Only a 100 pounds?
Only a 100 pounds?
That would be 94 lbs more than I have now.

I use about 16# per year of smokeless and maybe half a case of real black powder. I have about 24# of smokeless on hand now of several different burn rates. If I find Tight Group or BullsEye I will add to that. I have no use for 50BMG fodder, but who ever is supplying the stores seems to think that is all we need.

if you had 100lbs of powder
A good start!
If I were shooting 9mm and 38 special I would be trying to sell most of it.
That would be almost 200,000 rounds.
If I were a rifle shooter shooting a magnum I would say slightly more than necessary.
That would be around 10,000 rounds.
If I were a commercial reloader, loading all calibers, I would be looking for more.
First reload: .22 Hornet. 1956.

I'd take 100# per quarter
They call it "common sense". Why is it so uncommon?
it would mean I had had a sale and sold about five hundred pounds of powder in the recent past...
I load my Ten Bore Double Rifle with an ice cream scoop.
I won't say how much powder I have but I did buy a goodly amount when we could get surplus powder for $4 to $6 a pound, not really all that many years ago. For usage, let's just say my buddy and I went out Labor Day with my 1919A4 and created about 2,000 pieces of brass that need reloading.
I estimate that amount would last 5 years around my place. Almost to that quantity.
If you're loading 20mm for your Solothurn rifle you're looking at 12 rds/lb so 100 pounds is only 1200 rds. 550 to 600 gr per shot. I could shoot that up pretty quickly but I don't think I could load it very quick. I've got maybe 100 useable cases so I'd be looking at 8 lb at a time. At least the powder I need for it....WC762, WC868 or WC890 are available in reasonable amounts. Wonder if I'll ever shoot up enough to burn 100lb...?
The target we're shooting at was 1600yds off on top of the hill. In one of the pics it appears that there is a dust cloud a few hundred yds in front of the gun but that was someone elses doing.

I have well over 100lbs but i load for a lot of different calibers. So 16 to 20lbs per adds up fast.
I would be really happy for a while!
EDG..... waste of powder and brass? I suppose you would rather speak german or japanese?
If I were inclined to brag(I have no reason to) it would be about what I do, not how much I have. That is nobody's business.
I will say that I should address storage.

Powder is not really a worry. It is the availability of Primers that worries me. But then again I am mainly a Hunter. So as said due to my Shooting habits I do not need much. Or to say when 20 rifle rounds might last years how much do I need to reload lol. The Main reloading I do is playing with this Cast BOOLIT stuff trying to find loads lol.
But I will freely admit that I really did not think Powder would jump almost $50.oo for an 8 LB Jug when I started reloading in 2007. If I did I would have purchased a bit more and a few more primers as a safety net. But unless I go trying to use a firearm as a chainsaw then my current supply for my shooting habits is fine.
