    reclaimed shot questions

I am thinking about selling some reclaimed shot i have to fund a project
But i could use some input from you fellows .

If you was buying it would you rather have it already smelted into ingots or as i swept it up from the trap range and smelt it your self .

And if unsmelted and dirty what is a fair price per pound .i have cleaned it somewhat .. but there is still some stones and other debri in it ... the batch i smelted for myself i lost about 10 % by weight after fluxxing and cleaning

If I was buying it I'd rather have it in ingots unless there was a substantial price drop for smelting it myself.

As for price per pound, there is plenty of range lead out there smelted into ingots and shipped for right around 1$ per pound.
If I was going to have to do the smelting I think I'd need the price close to half of that before I'd bite.

But I just bought 65lb's of smelted range lead shipped for 70$ so I'm sitting pretty for now.

Just my opinion, best of luck to you Stephenj!

I should have mentioned that ... smelted i was figuring on the normal $1 .

I havent ever sold any lead before ... having an idea of a fair price for it being unsmelted and how most would prefer to buy it would help .

One caveat ... i am not looking at selling a huge quantity ... just enough for some project funding ... $100 or so worth of shot

My local trap club sells reclaimed shot, cleaned, re-graphited, and bagged for $25 / bag of 25 lbs when they have it. It sells out fast.

I would be interested in the shot uncleaned, as long as not full of rocks. So give me a PM on how much shot you'd ship me for the $100 you need.
    Thanks

I'd prefer shot. Maybe you could build a screen to cut down on the rocks and debris? Shot at a $1/lb should sell well. No smelting necessary.

Shot's harder to come by then lead ingots.

I could use some 7-12 shot, just plain lead or as close as possible, little or no graphite.

Before i list it in swapping and selling i am going to see if maybe i cant get it cleaned up a bit better then it is now .
And go on from there .

Once i get it cleaned up i will let those of you interested know and we can use a proper swapping and selling thread to take care of it .
