    Colt New Agent...who has one?

I'm looking for a new gun for concealed carry for summer time. Right now I'm zeroed in on one of the smaller 1911's and the Colt New Agent is at the top of the heap for me.

I am looking for info, advice, or reviews from anybody who owns and carries one.

What do you like about it?
What do you hate about it?
    Issues?

    Thank you.

I have both a new agent and a defender .. while i do not carry very often .. hardly ever actualy .

The new agent is easier to carry .. not having the battle sights to hang up on your clothing and a bit slimmer grip .

One thing i dont like is the beaver tail ( maybe it is a whale tail ) .. i have to grip the new agent a good bit harder then the defender
But that is my one and only complaint

If you are used to using the sights on your currant carry gun .. you might not like the trench style sight on the new agent ... it is definatly a point and shoot piece

It took me a few practice sessions to get used to having to use a firmer grip for point shooting

I shot my friends Colt agent 45 and he had the laser sight that Colt markets for it installed. The laser sight trumps the trench site and it would be my choice, it really works in this set-up. In a heated situation, a red dot on the chest of any bad guy who has to look at the muzzle of a 45 pointed at him, should stop most escalation. I carry either a Colt agent 38 or Smith escort 22 so I can't comment on carrying because I choose really small light guns as I usually don't have a holster in my cargo pants or shorts. If I holster carried, it would be a top choice for me. Accuracy is great for its intended purpose and I didn't notice the recoil for short range sessions.

I reviewed the Colt New Agent shortly after they were introduced and it is a fine Colt. The trench sights take a few magazines to get used to but once you do they work well.
I kept the test sample after the review and it has yet to give me any trouble. I would recommend it for a nice small carry pistol and I like the .45 Auto over the 380 Auto all day long.

Thank you for all the input. I played with both yesterday and believe the New Agent will be my new carry piece.
