Marlin 1895 45-70 Plug for Ohio Deer

You have to plug the magazine to two rounds. Ticonderoga makes a fat sharpened pencil (Staples). cut back the tip, drop it in (google disassembly - three screws including two at the front sling, raise the cap off the wood). It fits between the spring, pointy end down to not catch the spring, works perfect, 7 1/4" with eraser. Tube now hold 2.5 rounds, #3 is not getting in. Very easy.

No biggie IMHO plug it for 30+ years all I put in my 1895 marlin is 3 rounds 1 in the chamber and two in the magazine tube. [the gun gets heavy quick] I have never used the second one in the magazine, deer and bear drop within 5-10 yards most DRT.

You need a full magazine IMHO you need range time and lots of practice

What do game management rules have to do with the 2nd Amendment? You are perfectly free to have a rifle with full capacity magazine. You simply can't use it to hunt deer.

In some states you can't use rifles to hunt deer. So what?

Not trying to start an argument here, but I'm inclined to agree with Fred....just the way I see the world is all.
