Thankfully our neighborhood looks better than most but still not 100%.

I fly the flag every day in the yard. On Memorial Day I replace it with a flag that flew over the embassy in Sigon in '67' I buried by dad under it (WW II army MSGT) and I will be buried under it soon. Don't know where it will go from there.

When I went to gas station to get some cigs and a snickers, the person behind the counter told me "Happy Memorial Day!"

One short story that happened in our small town today.

At our Service today we had 1 Active Duty Army member. My wife went to him and thanked him for his service, his reply was "Not my day." while this was true and I understand, I do think it was a little inconsiderate, after all she was only thanking him for his service.

Oh well it is what it is.

Well, as I went to put my flag out today, It started raining.

I was gonna put it up before I left for work, but it has yet to stop.

I did resist the urge, and I also bought an ice cream sandwich. It's a shame that Memorial day has become another "Time to grill hot dogs and get drunk day."

Mine is up after I put in a new holder for the pole yesterday, have to rework the pole and get some longer rope to get it higher so it clears my porch roof. Have 5 more feet of flag pole to put under it soon as I get more rope

Neighbor across the street has theirs out, next door is an older lady and she doesn't have one up. Guessing she isn't feeling up to flying one right now with recovery from chemo. Not sure where she stores it or I would put it out for her. Looking further into town about every other house flies the flag.

I finally got around to getting a flag for the house today. The best I could find was a US made flag with a China made pole and bracket.

I think it'll be on my list to make a new pole for it.

I went for a run around the neighborhood this afternoon, and only saw 2 more flags flying. That's not a very high percentage.

Not home this weekend, but our flag flew all weekend on our camper.

We were also one of a few that did.

Mine was the only flag flying on my street today(or any other day), seems most people don't know or care anymore. I stopped going to the parades years ago when when they started letting the fruits N nuts walk! I know that in a loose way vet's fought for them to have that"right" but I still find it disgracefull.

Not a veteran, but I put out my flags on days like today. Don't have a pole, just cheep wall mount. So on really windy days it won't go up. Only one in my small neighborhood, but I noticed a couple of new ones up going to work today. Yep, had to work, would close if I could. But not everyone has forgotten.
Thank you and God bless America.

And yes my flag is a little ragged, it survived 95mph winds in an f0 tornado/straight line wind event in 2011. bent the steel pipe I use as a slip in mount for the pole but the aluminum tubing inside that survived and sprung back to straight. I should replace it but...

While I do thank you for showing your patriotism, your flag is no longer serviceable.

Many folks flags have a history.

Some flew over ????? when ????? happened.

Some may be a little torn and tattered just like our country is today.

I say THANK YOU to each and every one that flew theirs today because THEY remembered.

I know a few old fellers who haven't raised their flags since the patriot act was signed. Another old feller told me in 1988 "young man this ain't the America I fought for anymore". I asked what he meant, being young at the time I didn't understand. He was referring to the ban on new machine guns. They have not forgotten. They have made large contributions to this country with their service or with loved ones lives.

Memories that my house took minimal damage when many lost roofs and entire house/outbuildings and yes I will replace it when I can afford a new sewn flag, they are not cheap. I will not buy those cheesy printed flags, the wind here shreds them
