Not sure what it is as I've never seen one like that. If you would like to trade I have pure and coww ingots. I started collecting old ingots made of any metal years ago and would like to add to my stash. Just message me I will give you a few pounds over what you have and we each pay shipping.

My Dad once brought some home from a train wreck that looked like that. I believe they were pure block tin.
What we now call " tin cans " used to have the interior coated with block tin as well as having the mating seem soldered with block tin. These ingots were shipped to the can companies via rail and my Dad was a gandy dancer for 43 years so worked train wrecks.
The term "tin can " is a hold over from those days when cans were tinned. Steel cans now have the interior coated with some type of plastic or something non metallic. I think you may have made a very good score.

Save it until you actually MUST melt it. You could do a little research on exactly what it is since you may have a clue from Bullshop.

Looks like United American Metals Corporation #4 babbit:

    http://www.uamet.com/p4.htm

They have a contact email and phone number listed on the site. Positive identification of content seems pretty straight forward from there...
