There's a good used one in a LGS. Would this be the right size for 20 gauge loading?

I have wondered the same. I bought one myself to use for something else and haven't tried it in a partially load hull/wad. It rattles around some in an empty wad though. I think the proper size is closer to 0.619". Hopefully someone will know.
Rich,
The .600" is the size RB that folks are loading in the Triball loads for 12ga. Also, a .600 RB is suggested by Dixie Slug for loading in a 20ga MZ trade gun, but it requires a patch. The bore of a 20ga shotgun is in the .62 to .63 inch range, so would be a bit undersize. The .600 RB would also be too large in diameter to fit inside any 20ga shotcup that I have.

You would have to experiment with paper tubing to take up the space in a shotshell.
perhaps a over powder wad, some hard card wads, the rolled tube, then a scoop of COW, then seat the ball.

Yeah, OK. Just wondered. One fo these days, I'm gonna get serious about shotgun reloading and hunt deer with one. I have a Lee Load all set up for 20 gauge, never have used it yet.
Check out Ajay's thread. Start from the end and go backwards. Too bad there was a misunderstanding as he was most helpful.
