Sounds like windrider919 was trying to make the process work for an AR which would not be in the cards for me. Also, I wonder why he needed to go with a .216" boolit... guess I'll have a look at that thread you referenced.

Hello, Marlin Junky. The Hornet has a Shillen C.M. barrel, which I paid extra for hand lapped bore..the Ruger barrel is factory..and bore is not as smooth. Both are 26" & 1-14" twist. The best match jacket accuracy from Ruger is around 1/2" to 7/16"..and cast will duplicate this. The Hornet will group in the low .3"s with match jacket..and some 3 shot groups are 3/8"..but the majority will be around 5/8" to 3/4". The Hornet is a custom Sharps Borchardt panneled action. Both rifles are fitted with Leupold fixed 12X CPC.
I have since gone back to G.G. bullets..too many fliers with P.P.
