If the bore is good, it'll shoot well with .268 jbullets. Don't waste
any money on factory ammo except Hornady, all that I have found have .264 boolits and
are junk. Only Hornady bothered to actually learn something about
the 6.5 Carcano before manufacturing ammo for it.

Well, I've got my pouty face on. I get there and he pulls it out of the case, and it's all rusty and pitted all over, all the guts are gone out of the rear sight, and theres 20 years of hairball in the bore to where you can't even see through it. I told him to take the $150 he has been offered for it online, but, I stopped by my hole in the wall LGS, and got a KILLER deal on a 22/45 and a Mark III, so, I'm not too put out. I guess I will have to learn to make the deal before I post next time,,,,

A CHEAP ENOUGH Carcano is OK, but any rifle in the shape you mention is a pass at $150. Maybe
$50 if you need a project.

The pair of Rugers is WAY more gun, like about 10X. Much better deal.
