    stevens #16 crackshot rebuild

I picked up a stevens #16 crackshot in 32 rimfire a while back. the handle to open the breach block was missing ,
the barrel was buldged and was a sewer pipe inside, the breach block had the fireing pin welded in, the top tang
for the buttstock was broken. I made a new cro-mo breach block from a chev truck axle. I opted to make the breach
block like the rem rolling block with the mule ear. made the extracter and it works good. I converted it to 22 rf
using a ruger 10-22 barrel . it weighs exactly 3 1/2 lbs. I have only test fired into a block of wood so far.

    Nice job!

If I had one, I would want you to do it.

Good job! I have a 26 that I re-lined with a Redman liner, it is lots of fun to shoot.

Nice work, I particularly like the part octagon barrel. I am doing a Stevens Favorite that was in .32 Long and making it .22 RF also. I am using a heavy barrel blank, and considered making it octagon, but decided to match the original tapered round barrel to be able to use the original forend and switch calibers. I just picked up another Favorite, so maybe this time I will get out the indexer and do octagon. Thanks for the inspiration.

here,s how I convert the stevens 25 rimfire to 22LR and 22WMR/ I slot the fireing pin hole with a diamond point in a dremmel.
work carefully as it only takes about 45 seconds. make the fireing pin screwdriver blade type. this works for the favorite and
    marksman.
