357 Mag Unique load 158 Gran bullet

Does anyone have a good load for the 357 Magnum? I am using 158 grn bullets cast from a 50/50 mixture of lead and Linotype. Any help would be appreciated.

Five and a half to six grains has worked for me in the past , Unique has never been the best in the three fifty-seven for me but it does work .

That is a verygood alloy to use in the 357 Magnum. Lots of powders will work and shoot accurately, but I think cast boolit design is more important. I wish i had access to Ransom rest to find answer for you.

My 686 groups good using 158gr. Lyman and RCBS Cowboy boolits, CCI standard small pistol primers, Tin Star powder and Starline brass. The Tin Star powder and Small Pistol primers give verylow velocity spread. Magnum primer gave Higher velocity spread with this powder.

I have also tried: Bullseye, Unique, 2400, Trail Boss

I use Lyman #358156, with a gas check, and standard primer over 7.5 grains Unique.
My Ruger Blackhawk groups well with it ( I have a target on the wall that a quarter covers all 5 shots- 4 are touching each other). Wish I were young again and could see the sights like I use to.

Thanks qwpercle, how far away was that shot from. I will be loading for a S&W 357 6" Highway Patrolman.
