Anybody tried making .32 magnum shotshells?

Just curious. Seems like a couple gas checks and some cut down .327 mag brass might make something useful. Anybody done any experiments?

    Regards,
    Danny

I have experimented some, really not enough capacity to work effectively with shot larger than #11

I've done it for .32 S&W Long using my milk jug capsule technique. It's doable and pretty effective out of a snubby revolver.

I've used McDonalds staws to make shot capsules for the .32 long. Worked better than I had expected.

McDonalds straws are right around .312" diameter.

Very interesting. I may have to play with these a little and see what works. Did you fold the straws over? Make plastic over and under wads?

Hmm.. Maybe 3 pieces of #1 buck inside a length of McStraw????

I slit the straws, folded and hot glued (inside), then I formed the base end in a heated .32 ACP case. I folded and hot glued the front end as well, but was never happy with the results.

I should revisit the process, as it needed some more refinement, but that should get you started!

Then cut off 3/4 inch long. Seal the other end.
With a cardboard wad loaded into a 30 cal rifle,( inside the neck only) this "shot load" can fit in the neck of a 30/30 shell and can be launched with a primer only or a touch of Bullseye added for covid stay home fun.
Also good for any .32 cal handguns.
needs a wad under the straw or the plastic will disintegrate from the blast.
Anyone who tries this better know this is a single load in a rifle.
If put thru the side gate of a 30/30 you will likely have shot all over inside the mechanism.
    No guarantees.
    Try at your own risk.
Easiest way to seal a plastic straw is to pinch it in needle nose pliers so its flat.
Then just heat the pinched together section and burn it off.
open the pliers when it's cool and you are sealed.
oh, make sure the straw will fit in the case before doing all this as they come in all diameters.
We use this method to keep salt and pepper dry and sealed in straws for camping
If too big, slit the straw and seal it using a round mandrel to hold it and use a collar to square it off like it says in Gears directions.
Really, the straws will work with a lite load, but using the plastic milk jug material can support a heavier load of shot outside the case.

Read the sticky on Gearnasher's post.
    Thanks Gear.
